Film: The Philadelphia Eleven

  • Good Shepherd Episcopal Church 2929 Woodland Hills Dr. Rm 205-207 Kingwood, TX, 77339 United States (map)

SPECIAL EVENT! All are welcome.

Good Shepherd’s St. Agnes Chapter of The Daughters of the King is excited to announce that our November meeting will be a pre-release screening of the film The Philadelphia Eleven, a documentary about the first eleven women to be ordained in The Episcopal Church. More than 10 years of effort went into making this film about what has been called “an act of polite civil disobedience,” as the governing body of the denomination had not authorized the ordination of women. The film will be shown on Monday evening, November 13, at 7:00 PM in rooms 205/207 of the Mission Center.

Admission is free, but you must make a reservation by emailing Pam Nolting.  Please put "Philadelphia Eleven" in the subject line. Donations toward the distribution of the film will be accepted. Come and see the story of these brave women, and the brave men and women who supported them, and changed the face of our church.
