Finding God’s beauty through travel with friends
RoadRunners offers fellowship and fun for people aged 50+. The group gathers monthly, from September through June, to enjoy day trips to various places of interest within a 150-mile radius of Houston. Past trips have included visits to the Museum of Natural History and Museum of Fine Arts, the Mize Azalea Gardens, Nacogdoches, The Painted Churches, Schulenburg, and the George H.W. Womens Book Club
The Women’s Book Group invites you to join us the second Thursday of the month for a lively discussion of the book of the month. Books are chosen just a few months at a time so we can keep our selections current. We choose books for September through February with December off for a Christmas luncheon. Then we start with a new slate of books in March right through August while enjoying a spring luncheon in May.
Please join us because even if you haven’t read the book when you come, you probably will want to by the time you leave. Contact Emily Maas for more information.
Special Interest Groups
Knit and
Crochet
KnitCrochet is a group that gathers to knit and crochet outreach items. It is a wonderful way to serve, make new friends and have fun fellowship. Our current outreach projects are:
1. prayer shawls for our parishioners and a local hospice
2. scarves and caps for the Seafarers’ Centers at the Port of Houston and
3. knitted baby caps for newborns at the Kingwood Medical Center.
Meetings are on the first Friday of the month, from 1:30-3:30 pm, in the Mission Center. All skill levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome.

Prime Timers
Prime Timers is for those who feel they are in the “PRIME OF THEIR LIFE” with no kids to worry about and who would be interested in dining out at local restaurants to enjoy good food, good fun, and good fellowship. We usually number between 30 and 40 folks at our casual get-togethers. We have visited local Italian, Chinese, Mexican, American, Seafood, French, and Japanese restaurants, among others, and are always ready to try out new restaurants in our area. Train Club
Parents of Teens & Tweens
Parents of Teens and Tweens meets on the 2nd Wednesday for conversation and a healthy meal. Dinner begins at 6:30; arrive any time before 7pm. (We understand about traffic and providing taxi service to your kids!) Discussion is about whatever you need - whether it’s navigating local schools, issues with teens, college applications… or just having a break to talk about something other than your kids. Our goal is for the gathering to help lighten your load and your spirit. We end with a 10-15 minute prayer service at 8:15pm. Look for a sign up in the hallway or email Mother Celeste to be added to the email distribution.
The train club is over a decade old and includes members from within the church and local community. The club has two layouts, a 12x24 HO layout and a 5x9 ’O’ gauge. In addition to members running their own equipment, the club now has several HO engines and a large selection of rolling stock for members and guests to use. Details are continuously added to upgrade the layouts and to present a new experience to the viewer. The club’s business meeting is the first Monday of the month. Layouts are set up once a month on various weekends and special functions such as Rally Day and The Fall Festival. The club is open to those 18 years of age or older. Contact Bill Knapp via email.
