The on-line Parish Handbook is the official authorized collection of
public documents of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd including
its incorporation papers, bylaws, specific parish policies as approved
and updated by the Vestry, and policy statements by the Rector and other
parish officials.
Electronic links to various other official documentation of the
Episcopal Diocese of Texas, the Episcopal Church USA, and the Anglican
Communion, including canons and covenants, are also included as is a
link to the Good Shepherd School website. Other unofficial content may
also be included, as approved by the Vestry. Some official, non-public
policies, such as Employee Policies, certain financial policies,
procedures and select forms will be maintained separately.
Since the web-based Parish Handbook is the official repository for all
public policies and official documentation of the Episcopal Church of
the Good Shepherd, all paper copies of these policies (included in the
Parish Handbook and the former Vestry Handbook) will become unofficial,
will not be updated, and will be removed from circulation. However, one
hardcopy version of the current official website handbook will be maintained by
the Office Manager for those parishioners who do not have on-line
access.
The Parish Office Manager retains in secured files those one-of-a-kind
original documents or other papers important for legal or archival
reasons as deemed necessary by the Clerk and the Parish
Chancellor. These secured files include, but are not limited to, all
original signed documents.
The on-line Parish Handbook is maintained and updated by the Parish
Webmaster under the direction of the Clerk as authorized by the
Vestry. The Parish Webmaster also performs periodic backup of the
on-line Parish Handbook electronic files in conjunction with backup of
other critical Parish electronic files.
The Clerk maintains a historical record, i.e., a change log, of
all approved changes to both public and non-public policies.
