Sundays is also a more serious Bible study, and provides an opportunity
for Sr. EYC to develop leadership skills and help Jr. EYCers understand
more complex topics
The EYC room is also open weekly on Wednesdays from 3:00 pm-8:30 pm and
has two adults (trained in Safeguarding God’s Children) present. If
hangout time is cancelled Beth Anne will text youth and let them know.
We ask participants to please fill out a medical release form.

Basketball Game at KHS
As Christians, we are called to support each other inside and outside of
church. Come support one of our EYCers as he plays basketball this
Friday!
29th 11:30 am Jr. and Sr. EYC:
Respect in a Culture of Apathy
In our Culture of “I don’t Care” and “Whatever”, where do we as
Christians stand – and what would Christ have us do? Come and talk about
this after Church on Sunday.
29th 1:30 pm YMC Executive Council
Youth Ministry Council (YMC Executive Council for officers who set the
agenda for YMC meetings. Please email Beth Anne if you have questions
about becoming an officer. Elections are just around the corner.
February
1st 6:45PM Relationships Week Two: Family
and Friends
At times, especially as a Sr. EYCer it can be difficult relating to
family, or even friends. During this EYC we will talk about people we
lean on in difficult times and learn about healthy relationships from a
God perspective. If you think you have a difficult family life, come
and hear about some of the families in our tradition; you may just find
someone you can relate to in some way.

Council
An Awesome Leadership Experience for anyone in Jr. or Sr. EYC who wants
to steer the direction of EYC.

3:00 pm Super Bowl Party!
Come one; come all to our awesome Super Bowl Party! Before the game we
will have a flag football game. During the game there will be a
foosball, air hockey, and ping pong tournaments. Or, relax and watch
the Giants and Patriots play on our comfortable couches. We are asking
girls to bring sodas and guys to bring snacks.
8th 6:45PM Relationships Week Three –
Dating One
Relationships may become more complicated in high school when adding
boyfriends and girlfriends take on different meaning. Girls and boys
will talk in separate groups about how dating is influenced by their
faith and their peer groups.

11:30 pm Jr. and Sr. EYC: Holocaust
Combining with our Jr. EYC we will be taking a serious look at the
Holocaust and what we can do to advocate for better treatment of others
around us.
15th 5:45 pm Relationships Week
4 – Dating Two
Happy Valentine’s Day (one day late)! We will continue our
conversations about dating and add some different Biblical examples of
healthy and less than healthy relationships. This last week will be a
time for youth to ask any questions of instructors. We will end together
with a special sweet treat

17th 4:30 pm Harry Potter-a-thon
Join us for this 24 hour Harry Potter-a-thon, mixed with daily offices
and connecting to our faith. Harry Potter gives us several
opportunities for faith filled conversation. Jr. EYCers under the age
of 13 are asked to sign a special permission slip if they want to stay
for the whole Harry Potter-a-thon since some movies are rated PG-13.
19th 11:30 am Jr. and Sr. EYC – Racism
in America
The United States has an interesting history with race relations in
America. Being paired with our Sr. EYC counterparts, we will talk about
Biblical issues with race and discuss where we are today from multiple
perspectives.
22nd 7:00 pm Ash Wednesday
Services
All Jr. and Sr. EYCers are invited to come together to this special
service marking the beginning of Lent. We will be sitting in a group
and everyone is invited to wear the same color.
26th
11:30 am Jr. and Sr. EYC: Mission
As a group it is important to focus out at the world. We will be taking
a special trip into the Houston Community to help those in needs.
Afterword, the executive council will meet to plan events for EYC.
29th 6:45 pm Same Kind of
Different as Me – Part 1
This inspiring book is full of questions for our faith. The first part
of the book takes a serious look at wealth and poverty. Come join us
for an enlightening conversation
