Following is the policy of Good Shepherd regarding new programs:
I.
Persons
proposing new Church-related or Church sponsored programs must preview
their ideas with the Rector
II.
If the
idea is considered viable after the preview with the Rector, the person
or group requesting the program must submit a written proposal to the
Vestry no later than (1) week prior to the Vestry meeting.
III.
Matters
covered in the proposal, while not limited to, should include the
following:
A.
An
explanation of the need for the program – what is intended to do or
accomplish
B.
Who
will be involved
C.
Who
will organize and initially head the program
D.
What
resources, including budgeting, facilities and manpower, will be
necessary
E.
How the
program fulfills Good Shepherd’s Mission Statement
IV. The program must be approved by the Vestry and or Rector, as
appropriate, before
implementation.
V. Once a program is approved, a Vestry Liaison will be assigned
VI. For programs involving the handling of money, financial
authorities must be defined
and accounting procedures must be established with the
bookkeeper in accordance
with established procedures.
