Administrative Committees

Administrative committees are comprised of people personally invited to be members. These committees are different from other groups in the parish because of their specific function.  However, if you have an interest in being a member of a particular administrative committee, please make it known to the contact person so that you may be considered when an opening is available.

 

Diocesan Council Delegates  These persons are annually elected representatives of Good Shepherd Church who agree to attend different meetings and gatherings throughout the year including the Annual Diocesan Council meeting in February.  These meetings are held at locations all across the Diocese of Texas.  For more information please contact the Sr. Warden, Randy Sutton at (281) 354-7272.

 Finance Committee  This committee is responsible for planning and auditing church finances, and the annual budget.  Contact Church Treasurer Greg Roberts at (281) 361-2075 for more information.

 Communications Committee  The committee is responsible for publicity, advertising, signage, photography, bulletin boards, and Life at Good Shepherd displays, as well as proofreading newsletters, bulletins, and other parish-wide communications. Parishioners who have experience in public relations, advertising, photography, website, or other types of graphic design, writing, editing, or scrapbooking are welcome to join the committee. Property Commission  Oversees the maintenance and repair of church facilities. Current members of the Property Commission include: Jr. Warden - Ben Robles, Electrical - Jon Taylor, Grounds - Paul Pate, HVAC - Steve Currell, Interior - Bob Schorr, Plumbing - John Grayson, School & MDO - Paul Brinsden. Parish Life Committee  Responsible for planning and conducting the annual pledge campaign each fall, as well as various “Spirit of Stewardship” activities throughout the year.  Contact MacLean Price at (281) 812-6171.

 

Vestry  While the Rector  handles  the liturgical activities of the church, the 12-person Vestry meets regularly to conduct  the business aspects of Good Shepherd.  Four new persons are elected each year at the annual parish meeting to serve a three-year term.
